Guide Service

The Deschutes river is one of the premier fly fishing rivers in the Pacific Northwest. Where else is a blue ribbon native-fish-only trout stream and a strong summer steelhead run found in the same place !?!  You haven't completed your flyfishing life without having caught a sea-run fish in the middle of the desert.  Our guided drift boat trips range from one-to-four day excursions. One-day trips start at Warm Springs and end at Trout Creek, drifting 10 river miles. Multi-day trips can range from 10 to 43 miles and are arranged according to the number of days on the river and your choice of game fish.  Fly fishing for wild Deschutes rainbow "Redside" trout is an experience every fly fisher should have. The fish range from 10 to 20 inches and are extremely strong. Summer run steelhead fishing begins in July and can last into November!! The Fly Fisher's Place can also arrange business trips for groups, and half-day to multi-day excursions. Floating along the volcanic rimrock basalt of the canyon will delight anyone that enjoys the outdoors.

Wildlife viewing is excellent for many species of birds including bald eagle, golden eagle, and lots of osprey; reptiles; deer; and otters.
