The McKenzie River is a classic western Oregon fishing river. Drift boats used across the West were developed here decades ago. This fern-laden forested canyon is rich in character and flyfishing history. Its r is comprised of mostly riffles and pocket water and is perfect for fly fishing right from the drift boat. The scenery is lush forest with a rugged back drop. The native fish are like the ones found on the Deschutes, but somewhat smaller averaging 12 to 15". There are native Westslope Cutthroat trout, beauties!! You may also catch stocked trout as well. Dry fly fishing is often very productive throughout the year. This is a great experience for fly fisherman of all skill levels. We also offer a fun day of Fly Fishing in the upper reaches of the McKenzie. These are "walk-wade" trips and can be customized to accomodate a shorter day or may be a perfect place to spend a day with a guide learning how to fly fish. The Fly Fisher's Place offers trips on the upper Mckenzie and the Middle Fork of the Willamette rivers under special use permit on the Willamette National Forest and is an equal opportunity recreation provider.

The Fly Fisher's Place has really great options for private lake fishing all within 20 minutes our shop in Sisters. Longhollow Ranch is a unique place with great mountain views. Float tubing is fun here! Good fishing starts here in March and is great for the callibaetis and damsel hatch through early summer. Then again in the fall the fishing gets hot again as the fish go on a frenzy to fatten up before winter. There are 3 lakes on the property and we allow a limited number of anglers per week to fish here so the fishing is always fresh. This is a spot you'll remember and want to return to year after year. $150/person.
Alder Creek Ranch is absolutely beautiful and just down the road from the lovely and challenging Aspen Lakes Golf course 10 minutes from the shop. This is a big lake, easily tubed or fished effectively from the banks. You'll find big fish here, with some 12 pound "brooders" dwelling the depths, but working the shoreline during a hatch can't be beat, reeling in lot's of feisty rainbows 2 to 4 pounds. $150/person
